La Catedra ( The Cathedral) 220 m. 6a/V+/1V+/6a/V+/1V/6a/6b+ or OA6a+/1V/1V E3 (5b/5b-/4c/5b/4c/4a/5b/6a or OA5b/4b/4a. E3 UK) A tremendous route taking the full length of this beautiful rock face. Approach - Half way up the track leading to the col on the approach to Haunted walls (see that description) park besides the track or continue to the parking area for Haunted Wall and walk back down the track to a large tree with a red mark on it. A faint path descend down the hill to join a well marked track going south. Follow this below some very impressive wall and the Cathedral is very obvious as you approach it. Scramble up the left side of the broken rocks at the bast of the wall to reach a large ledge below the blunt arete. Start on the right side of the arete and just left of as narrow gully. 1. 35 m. 6a-. E1. ( 5b UK) Climb the broken rocks of the wide arete until a move left in made into a shallow groove . Climb this for a short while ( peg runner) then move right and up to a crack. Follow this until a move right can be made to reach a small ledge and thread belays. 2. 25 m V+ Adv;5. ( 5b-) Climb the steep slab and make for a small overlap. Climb over this (2 bolts) and trend left to a small ledge just right of a groove. Thread and peg belay. 3. 20 m. 1V+ Adv.5. ( 4c UK) Climb across the groove and traverse left and slightly downwards to a ledge and bolt belay. 4. 40 m. 6a E2. ( 5b+ ) Climb directly up the wall by a small groove ( 2 Bolts) and into the upper section of the wall which is split by a series of thin cracks . Climb the centre of the wall ( 1 bolt) and the left to reach bolt belays. 5. 25 m. V+ Adv.4. ( 4c) Climb the slab on the left into a gully, follow this and then move back left onto the arete proper. Bolt belays on the arete. 6. 20 m. 1V- Adv.3. ( 4a UK ) Climb across broken loose rock to a cave on the left . Bolt belays. 7. 40.m. 6a. E1. ( 5b) Enter the groove on the left ( 1 bolt) and follow this over ledges and another groove to a good ledge on top of a tower. (escape can be made from here on the right). 8. 20 .m. 6b+ or OA 6a E3. ( 6a or OA 5b UK) Climb onto the wall opposite the tower . Follow the crack right and then move back left into the centre of the wall. Continue straight up then left and make some long and difficult moves to reach a good ledge and belays. 9. 20. m. 1V Adv 4. ( 4b. UK) Climb the groove to a ledge. 10. 30 .m 1V adv 3. ( 4a UK ) Follow the arete to the top of the mountain. Way off - Climb over the top and down the other side making for the descent on the right Cross the gully to a steep gully going down to the base of the mountain .
