No experience is needed for this course although a reasonable standard of fitness is obviously required. Discover Costa Blanca and the real Spain. You will be amazed at the wonderful mountains of the South Eastern Sierras with its flower, forests and raw nature where easy access and good weather guarantees a memorable experience. Initially a short walk to start the week, map reading skills, pacing and mountain awareness will be discussed. The course will spread its efforts throughout the area of the South Eastern Sierras. Whenever possible a two day trek will be arranged. You will spend one night away from Finestrat trekking out from the village and over the mountains to stay at another pueblo for the night. You then journey back taking another route, finally arriving back at your home village. This allows you to visit some of the more remote areas, small pueblo's (villages) and valleys. The occasional easy scramble will also be undertaken where you will learn how to use a 'walkers rope' as security and how to 'find' your way up the more difficult terrain. An opportunity to descend a limestone gorge will also be given. This will depend on the weather which is prevailing at the time. The ratio of student for theses courses will depend on the type of terrain covered during the week.
