The Costa Blanca area of Spain has over the last few years become one of the most important areas for rock and mountaineering in Europe. Finestrat is a superb base from which to experience the high quality rock and mountain climbing. It is also an excellent base for all the other courses we organise in Spain.

Our rock climbing courses in Spain are well balanced between single pitch (both sports and adventure rock climbing) and multi-pitch climbs. The courses start from a basic level of skills learning and as each day progresses your fitness and competence is assessed. As you progress we introduce more advanced skills and techniques. On all courses one half day of instruction in self-rescue techniques will be included. During the week we assess your ability and whenever possible we encourage students to lead climbs, but only for those who wish to and are (in our judgement) capable. For those who are interested, every effort is made to give an experience of long multi-pitch routes (for those wishing to undergo this type of climbing for a complete course we run selected "Mountain Weeks".

Our courses are tailored to suit all levels of climbing and mountaineering abilities, from beginner to advanced, and are designed so that course members will have the confidence to continue to climb unsupervised and safely have their own adventures. Instructors will be coaching you throughout the whole week so any queries you may have can be answered immediately.

Our knowledge of this area guarantees that you will have the opportunity of visiting the best and most beautiful localities to rock climb. We never lose sight of the fact that students are also on holiday and your enjoyment is also an important part of your climbing experience at Compass West.

During the year we organise other rock climbing courses. These are for students who wish to take their rock climbing experiences that little bit further. The same dedication is applied to these courses as in our main ones.
