At Compass West we try to encourage our students to extend themselves in the activities they have choosen be it rock- climbing, mountaineering, trekking, ski-ing or mountain biking.
Many of our students become close friends and return to the school for many years.

The director of the school is Rowland Edwards who is a qualified international mountain guide (U.I.A.G.M. and A.B.G.) He was also one the first climbers to qualify as a M.I.A.C (Mountain InstructorsAdvanced Certificate) holder.
