Do you want something new and away from the polished bolted routes or just appreciate the more wilder and natural areas to climb in? Then join one of our courses and discover the real mountains of the Sierra Aitana in the Costa Blanca.

A rock climbing course for climbers wishing to visit some of the more remote areas of the Costa Blanca. Many of the rock climbs and areas visited on this course have been discovered and developed by Compass West and are known only to few climbers. Climbing well away from the usual sports climbing areas one can experience a day close to nature and enjoyable companions.

These courses are run by Rowland and Mark who have discovered scores of new routes and new areas to climb in. This knowledge allows us to give you an experience of wild climbing far beyond the usual bolted and polished rock climbs of the Costa Blanca.
The use of our 4x4 vehicles will allow course members to access these areas easily with a minimum of load carrying, thus spending more of your time rock climbing.

This course is for adventure climbing , not sports climbing, and all the skills used on our normal courses will be given throughout the week. You learn how to use modern equipment, to climb safely and to move in our vertical world with confidence. When ever possible those who can lead will be encouraged to do so.

Applicants should be able lead at Very Difficult (grade 3) or second Severe.(4b), or have attended a previous Compass West course. This is an ideal week for those intending to stay with us at Finestrat for an extended two weeks course

The dates for this course are:
9th April - 16th April    and     16th April - 23rd April. Other courses will be run whenever course numbers are sufficient
