Climbers Accommodation with Compass West, Spain
Finestrat is in the very centre of the climbing on the Costa Blanca. Most of the major sport and traditional climbing can be reach easily from the village. Our Accommodation is here in Finestrat. We have both apartments and a chalet which offer climbers and those interested in the outdoors superb accommodation. Being climbers and guides ourselves, and living here all year, we can offer guidance to most of the areas you would want to visit, be it as a rock climber, mountaineer, walker or biker.
From the village of Finestrat you can walk up to the mighty Puig Campana with its massive walls and ridges and of course its fantastic walks. The new climbing area of ‘The Castellets’ is just ten minutes ride. This area has hundreds of new routes both sports and trads, many of them multi pitch. It even has a Via Ferrata approach to some of the climbs.
The Sella valley is only fifteen minutes drive and is definitely the premier area for both sport and trad climbing. Echo Valley and Ponoch are again only 15-20 minutes away; both with ample sport and trad climbing.
A further 10 minutes will get you to Guadalest. Calpe, with the Penon de ifach and Toix, is an easy 25 minutes drive along the motorway. In the opposite direction, south of Alicante, most of the climbing areas can be accessed in 45-60 minutes. Walking and biking is all around with incredible mountain tracks where there are no restriction. (long may it last).

Chalet accommodation.
The Chalet is situated just outside the village, about 1.5 kms. and overlooks the actual village. The surrounding views of the Puig Campana, Castellets, Divino and towards the Mediterranean sea are simply breath taking.
The chalet is within the grounds of the actual school of Compass West, a very private and quiet place. It has three bedrooms each with two single beds, six persons in all, although we can arrange for seven if a bunk bed is used. There is a private shower and separate toilet. Kitchen/ Diner. Sitting room. Outside covered sitting/dining area and B&Q. It is surrounded by trees with sitting areas. There is plenty of easy secure parking. We can also accommodate those who wish to camp should there be an overflow from the chalet.
All the facilities of the village are within easy reach. These include:-
Mini markets and small grocers, bakers, 10 bar restaurants, a pizza bar, internet café, chemist, garage, fresh fish shop, swimming pool and sport facilities, church and doctors clinic.
Apartments in the village of Finestrat
These are within the actual village itself and are very well appointed. They all have extensive views of the surrounding mountain, including the Puig Campana.
Each apartment accommodates 6 persons. All have twin single beds in each bedroom. A large kitchen with all the usual facilities for self catering, Dining / Sitting room, Bath / Shower with Separate Toilet. There is also a large roof terrace.
All the above facilities for shopping etc are the same as for the Chalet.
